Oh where do I start? You are my middle child and you play your role really well. You're a hardworker...typical type A female. But you are also so considerate and loving. I'm proud to call you my daughter.

Your travels to this earth was a bumpy one. It started with me having contractions and driving myself to the emergency. I was ready to give you up for adoption. I was 18 with one kid at home and you on the way. No one in our family knew about you. I spoke to the social worker before hand about adoption, and she was ready with papers waiting. Your delivery wasn't easy. Your heartbeat slowed, and they had to do some electric shock thing to speed up your heartbeat. When you finally came out...not a peep was heard. My heart raced and fear paralyzed me. I thought something happened to you. When the nurse was holding you trying to get a response in those split seconds, I knew I loved you with all of my being. I knew you were destined for me. Then you cried and I cried. Later, the social worker came in, and I told her I couldn't do it. She supported me when I had to call our family. I thank the Universe, God, all of the higher beings for you. You. You even looked like an alien. Hence, your nickname lol You were my little alien...my very cute alien.

We all grew up together, your sisters and I. Some days I really mess up and you're there to help me out. I see it, and I really appreciate it. You don't know how much I appreciate it when you're able to pick up your sister because I'm still at work. I am so proud of who you are. You're a go getter, and now in college starting your own life. I'm so blessed to see you grow into a healthy human being, making huge contributions into this world. Your kindness and smarts means so much to so many people.

You have inspired me to light fire under my ass and not be lazy. To pursue my dreams, face my fears, and to stay consistent. You also taught me how to let go of ego and gain humility. Did you know that? When I was scared, you offered to sleep with me. Sometimes you were my parent, and I am forever thankful.

I'm excited to see where this new journey of independence will take you. I know you and your sisters will do many great things in life. I am so happy I get to witness each step of it. I am thankful for the relationship you and I have. It is uniquely special in every sense of the way.

I love you and thank you for being my Destiny.
